He’s back!!! ………..After one too many road side stands, Typhoid, Salmonella, and Parasites, The Frugal Gourmet is alive and well…………………….

While visiting my favorite Italian hotel, I could not help but look at a bright yellow flyer saying PASTA LUEGO… Hum…Sounds good. I put on my detective hat and decided that it was time for an investigation. Would you believe the flyer had a map? I threw my wife and aunt into the car and off we went.....

Pasta Luego is on the corner of Avenida 25 and Calle 28: If a bit off the beaten track, it is easily seen with its orange façade and well worth the visit! To say the place is clean is an understatement!

We were warmly welcomed by Simona & Ivo, the owners. Ivo, fluent in English, sure knows the ropes about starting a business! Would you believe that PASTA LUEGO is 2 weeks young? And already tourists and locals alike are raving about the pasta! Buona Fortuna Ivo & Simona!

Freshly made daily, for either take out or eat-in, you are in for a surprise. This is a miniature pasta factory. The choices are Fettuccine, Tagliolini, Ravioli, Gnocchi, & Lasagne. All pasta come in 3 colors (Green for spinach, Red for Tomato, and natural for semolina) and 5 different sauces. It’s nice to see hanging pasta air drying as you enjoy your meal. Prices start at 40 pesos and go up to 55 according to which combo you pick. My favorite is the green Fettuccine with Tomato & cream, Yummy! This is a winner! By the way, you will not go home hungry with the Lasagne. If you are a pasta lover like me, you have to try this place!

No booze served! But dessert is available! If you prefer to cook home, buy your own choice of pasta, which is sold by weight. We did this last night with my wife’s famous meat sauce. What a delight!!
