Il Mangiare on 5th Avenue

A great new addition to the Northern part of 5^th Avenue!

Looking for a nice café to enjoy a delicious sandwich or coffee? Playa del Carmen has been lacking a specialty delicatessen, and we now have a place to go!

Il Mangiare is a new delicatessen that just opened last week. It offers a variety of baguette sandwiches, bagels, salads, coffees, and hard to find specialty items, such as pickles, pastas, sauces, and more. Right across from Café Corazon and neighboring Puro Bueno (you know, the “red” bar with the infused vodkas), Il Mangiare is a great new addition to the exploding growth just north of Constituyentes on 5^th Avenue......

Owner, Jose Namnum, from Mexico City has lived in Cancun for the past 7 years. He has frequently come to Playa del Carmen on business, and saw the lack of specialty delicatessens, and voila he has filled the niche quite nicely. He uses fresh baked baguettes from a bakery in Cancun and the majority of his ingredients are imported from all over the world. The sandwiches are fresh and tasty, and are served warm which enhances the flavor. Try the turkey with gruyere and bleu cheese, or choose the roast beef, whichever one you choose you will not be disappointed!

So go and check it out whether for a meal, a coffee, or some other libation (they will be serving beer, wine, and cocktails by this coming weekend) you will be glad you did! Manager Lucas Moreno, from Argentina, will be there to greet you and help you choose from the great variety of goodies. Saturday December 18^th at 4:00 PM is their official opening and they will be offering samples, and tastes of their delectable fair. The Playa Maya News team will be sure to attend, see you there!
