Well I just ate the best Taco Al Pastor with Pinneapple and Pumpkin Seed Salsa I've ever had. Check this out! Oh My!

So I take a bite of this sizzling sumptodelicious Pumpkin Seed Salsa smothered Taco Al-Pastor and the only words I could say were “Um-Um, Soooo Gooood! – more please.”.

And that is exactly how it is at Los 3 Carboncitos, the most outstanding taco shop here in the Riviera Maya – well of course, that’s just my opinion. And judging by the rest of the patrons who were enjoying their meals, I would say I have lots of amigos who feel the same.

You see Hector Martinez came from Mexico City to Playa del Carmen last year and opened up Los 3 Carboncitos as a matter of a long term passion with food that he’s had since a young boy in Mexico City.

Getting to his passion was a road less traveled.

You see, it was not always food for Hector. At first he dallied and ventured into the world of the internet. He owned his own Internet Service Provider in Mexico City. His ISP did well in the world when the net was young.

In 2000, he joined Yahoo Mexico as the “Producer” – the person in charge of the front page. He was The Man – the person in charge of making sure everything operated well and functioned properly. “It was big challenge and very enjoyable” said a proud Hector.

However, the food bug and Playa del Carmen were calling.

With a new vision Hector, his partners, and his family took to the road and ventured into the world of Small Business where the challenges are great, the risks large, and the potential for success are all within reach. A chance Hector was ready for…………

Thus, Los 3 Carboncitos was born.

The Special Fresh Made Salsas

“Our goal is provide the best tasting tacos in the Riviera Maya” said a jublient Hector. “We spent months on taste tests to create the best tacos with multiple sauces and here we are. Moreover, we do so in a standardized, professional, and clean way where the food preparation is of the highest standards. We are quite proud of our effort.”

And it shows. I took a tour of the pristine and organized kitchen. It is first class. The Al Pastor meat is prepared in a way which allows the natural juices to flavor the meat and is complimented on the plate with a slice of freah pinnepple and the most unique sauces in the Riviera Maya.

“We offer Pumpkin Seed, 3 Chilis, Chili de Arbole, Chili de Aguacate, and the traditional Mexican Salsa……” said Hector.

The creations of sauces are unique. There were mostly developed from scratch and created here for the Playa del Carmen market. I especially liked the Pumpkin Seed sauce. It was mild and so good that embarrassingly, we ate it all. That’s right, we cleaned it out.

Of course, Tacos al Pastor is not the only thing on the menu. Los 3 Carboncitos offers many other items as well. But oh my, those Tacos are to die for.

“Fabulous” decries my son who munched down about 7 – 8 of them. And that says it all.
